Membership has it's privledges....
as well as certain expectations. These are few and simple but they need to be justified and enforced. So here is the logical reasons for rules. To wit;
The vast bulk of ECMPlace contributors are English speakers. The administrators and moderators are all full-time professional employees of various organizations and frankly the non-English postings tend to be spam.
For every legitimate entry posted on the site there can be as many as 300 or more bogus posts. It takes hours and hours each week to prune these distractions and purge the invalid membership requests.
The value of this site to all the users depends on not only the active submission of topics, but also the expectation that those who benefit by having their questions asked, return the favor and support the community by providing useful accurate replies and answers. Users who post only questions or solicitations for advice may be posting an interesting topic, but the most valued members contribute solutions to the body of knowledge. The rules!
All posts and identifiers will be written in English or include an English translation. Any identifiers, names, content or posts entered in any other language will be deleted.
Avoid whenever possible embedded links to external sites.
The practice of posting and reposting identical messages in multiple forums is a burden. Please research the site thoroughly to avoid duplicating topics.
Please refrain from submitting requests for help via private messages to the moderators and contributors. We encourage any contributor to report this behaviour. Those who practice this risk losing their access privileges.Finally!
